I came from Viet Nam as a refugee and have lived in San Diego since 1975. I attended public schools for my elementary and high school education, and community colleges. I graduated from San Diego State University in 1994 in Microbiology. I worked in a research laboratory and transitioned to the financial services industry for the purpose of education. I have been working in the financial industry since 1997. My late uncle, Father Bien Do was a diocesan priest for the Diocese of San Diego. I have been very active in church since childhood, from serving as altar boy to being involved in the Vietnamese church’s youth groups. I am a parishioner at Santa Sophia Catholic Church, and I served as Usher and Eucharistic Minister. I also help coordinate Bible Timeline Study class fall of 2008. I started with the Knights of Columbus fall of 2008. I have volunteered with the local chapter of the Vietnamese Marital Encounter Program with my parents for the last 18 years. My calling to the priesthood was a gradual process of discernment. I am now a 1st year Seminarian student in theology at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon. I am blessed to be called to this vocation and with God’s grace, I will continue prayerfully respond to His call.
