David Exner

I was born in Pensacola, FL on December 14, 1982. My parents are Philip and Susan Exner, who currently reside in Colorado Springs, CO. Along with them and my younger siblings Mark, Amy, Christine, and Sarah, much of my childhood was spent moving around the globe until my father retired from active duty in the Marine Corps. After graduating from high school, I attended the United States Naval Academy where I received a bachelors of science in Naval Architecture and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps in 2005. I converted to Roman Catholicism in 2006 after years of independent study, searching, and prayer, and then began to slowly learn about the process of discerning God’s will for my life. In the years leading up to my application to the Program for Priestly Formation, I helped lead a study of the Theology of the Body at St. Brigid’s Parish and also helped teach first year confirmation at Our Lady of the Rosary in San Diego, CA. I am currently a first year candidate at the St. Francis Center, and I am enrolled in both philosophy and theology courses at the University of San Diego.
